Meet at Le Marin between 3pm and 6pm for check in. You will then be taken by dinghy to your aqua lodge.
Check out will be on the last day of your rental between 8am and 10am.

Below you will find some ideas of visits and activities to do during your stay :

  • Water activities :
In Martinique, there is no shortage of water activities, both on the water and underwater! Thrill seekers will love beautiful surfing spots (l'Anse Bonneville Beach, Diamond Rock, Anse l'Etang Beach...), for kitesurfing and windsurfing (Anse Michel Beach, Anse Trabaud Beach, Pointe Faula Beach...). Other fun activities include kayaking and Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) . Canyoning allows you to discover the most beautiful places on the island.
Underwater, the views are just as mesmerising, so why not discover underwater diving or snorkeling?

  • Land-based activities :
It would be a shame to visit Martinique without taking time to explore inland. One of the best activities to do on the island is none other than hiking ! Whether you are an avid hiker or a beginner, you will inevitably find trails for your level (below are some examples) :
  • The Caravelle peninsula (Trinite) offers 2 long hikes (1 1/2 hours or 3 1/2 hours) through varied landscapes (dry forests, mangrove trees, coastal areas...)
  • The Slave Channel (or Beauregard Canal), a relatively easy course that allows you to enjoy a magnificent view of the Pitons Carbets.
  • Mount Pelée, is suitable for those in good physical shape (4/5 hours of walking; significant elevation gain). When you reach the summit (1,395 metres), you can enjoy panoramic views.
You can also rent mountain bikes to explore Martinique at your own pace and admire the landscape at leisure. A perfect way to explore independently.
If you are a family, you may enjoy some time in a tree climbing park (Mangofil, Lion's Parc or l'Accrobranche du Vauclin).

  • Cultural visits :
Martinique also offers many cultural and natural treasures, not to be missed. Below are some examples of must-see places:
  • The Museum of Rum (Sainte-Marie) is situated in the old mansion of the Saint-James distillery. You will learn all about the process of making rum with sugar cane.
  • The Balata Botanical Gardens opens its doors for an exotic walk among more than 3,000 species of tropical plants (hibiscus, porcelain roses, wild orchids...)..
  • The Slave's Savannah (Three Islands) is an open-air museum that traces 400 years of history in Martinique (Native American village, slave lifestyle, abolition of slavery...).
  • Housing Céron (Preacher) is an ancient 17th century sugar factory, nestled in the heart of a tropical forest. Its garden homes "remarkable" shelters, the oldest tree of Martinique, the tree Zamana (350 years). You can also eat on site and taste the products grown on the estate.

  • What documents are needed for a trip to Martinique?

British and US passport holders don’t need a visa to visit Martinique for 3 months or less, but you must have a passport valid for at least 6 months with 2 blank visa pages. If you wish to stay longer than 3 months, check the current entry requirements on the website of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs; https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/
For other nationalities you should consult the advice issued by your government's foreign office.
  • Who takes care of the flights?

Your airline tickets can be booked by the GlobeSailor team. You must specify it to your advisor when booking your stay.
  • How is my transfer from the airport to the boat organised?

Your transfers are not included in your package. However, they can be arranged by your GlobeSailor advisor and the base manager. You can travel by taxi or minibus. The payment of this service is generally to be made to GlobeSailor at the time of payment of the balance, or directly on site in cash. Don’t forget to send your arrival times to your advisor!
  • Does the boat operate only with the sails?

It depends on the weather. When the winds are strong, the skipper will use the sails to sail silently. On days with calmer winds or to reach the stopovers on schedule, the skipper may need to use the engine. The engine is also used when entering and leaving the marinas. We cannot guarantee a minimum time of using the sails. The skipper will do their best to use the sails as much as possible and involve passengers in manoeuvres.
  • Can I bring alcohol on board?

No passengers are allowed to bring bottles of alcohol on board.
  • What happens if I need to cancel my cruise?

If you wish to make a cancellation, you should contact your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Whatever the circumstances, you will be charged the following cancellation fees, depending on when the cancellation is made: up to 90 days before departure = 30%; 89 to 60 days before departure = 50%; 59 to 30 days before departure = 75%; 29 days or less before departure = 100% of the total cost of your booking.
We recommend that you sign up for cancellation insurance with Ouest Assurance: https://www.ouest-assurances.fr/en/
  • What payments must I make to confirm my booking?

To confirm your booking you should inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will put an option (hold) on the cabin for a certain time until we receive your down payment.

The booking will only be considered final once we have received your down payment (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card) which is 50% of the total amount. A 100% down payment is required for any booking made less than one month before departure.

The balance should be paid no later than one month before boarding, either to the base or to GlobeSailor. Mandatory extras and options will be payable locally. Be sure to check with your advisor or the base prior to departure.
