Hotel

During your 2-night stay at Huahine, you will be accommodated at Le Mahana 3-star hotel (local standards). Located in the southwest of the island, in the bay of Avea, this charming little local hotel will seduce you with its white sandy beach, coral garden and its simple and authentic atmosphere.
The hotel's entertainment team comes from the island.

Cabin

With an area of approximately 32 m² (including 6 m² of private terrace), your semi-detached garden bungalow has a king size bed (200 x 200 cm). It is equipped with air conditioning, air brewer, television, telephone, refrigerator, tea/coffee set, hair dryer and bathroom.

During your cruise, you will sail on Mahé 36, an 11-metre long catamaran. This boat offers great comfort and performance under sail. The spacious and bright cockpit is equipped with comfortable benches. Outside, the shaded cockpit will protect you from the sun so you can relax in complete serenity. Equipped with a ladder, the rear skirts will allow you to get back on the boat with ease. Comfortably seated in the trampolines, located at the front of the catamaran, you will enjoy watching the Polynesian landscape unfold.
NB: The size of the boat will be adapted according to the number of participants.

In a 2-cabin version, the Mahe 36 can accommodate 2 passengers plus 2 crew members. All cabins are equipped with portholes, a double bed (1m60), storage space, bathroom and private toilets.

Take advantage of your seaside stay with half board to enjoy local specialties: raw Tahitian fish, hibiscus salad, crème brûlée. During the cruise, explore an underwater world populated by myriads of hued fish.

DAY 1 : Hotel Le Mahana (Huahine)
Check-in from 2pm.
Upon arrival at Huahine airport, a collective transfer is arranged to take you to your hotel, Le Mahan. Once you arrive in Le Mahana, you will be welcomed with a drink and led to your garden bungalow. You will have the choice between the turquoise waters of the lagoon and the hotel’s swimming pool for relaxing after your trip. For those who have energy, the hotel offers paddles, kayaks and snorkeling equipment ideal for exploring an underwater world populated by colorful fish. Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

DAY 2 : Hotel Le Mahana (Huahine)
Wake up to the sounds of birds singing. After breakfast, you have the day to discover this small island. Huahine is often referred to as “the memory island” because of its many archaeological finds. You will find marae places of worship reserved for ceremonial and religious activities, the pôte'e fare of Maeva (a typical Polynesian building built entirely of wood and bamboo), traditional fish parks and sacred eels with blue eyes that undulate in the river of the village of Faie. The hotel offers several excursions (in addition): a hike with a guide, a guided quad tour, a canoe trip around the island with picnic in the lagoon, scuba diving... You can also visit Huahine at your own pace by renting a bike or car.
Back at the hotel, you will taste local specialities prepared by Jean-Frédéric, the chef and his team.

DAY 3 : Hotel Le Mahana - Fare Village
Enjoy your last morning at the hotel with breakfast featuring a breathtaking view of the lagoon. Boarding is scheduled from 2pm from the hotel pontoon. The skipper will pick you in a dinghy and take you to the boat. You will meet the hostess/ cook who will show you your cabin. After a brief on safety instructions, the skipper weighs anchor and sets sail north-west to Hana Iti beach. Accessible only by sea this magnificent beach if perfect for quiet swimming and snorkeling. You then leave to anchor in Fare Bay. Ashore, you will stroll through the mamas’ fruit stalls and meet the inhabitants. Dinner and overnight at anchor.

DAY 4 : Fare Village - Taha'a
Take time in the morning to enjoy your continental breakfast in front of this postcard landscape. The skipper hoist the sails and takes you to Taha’a island, famous for its vanilla. During this crossing, you can learn about fishing and it if is successful, the hostess will be happy to cook your trophies. Anchor at Motu Mahaea (Ceran), a small island surrounded by a coral garden. After lunch, the skipper will accompany you to Taha’a where you will visit a vanilla farm. The guide will explain how the vine is cultivated. You will then have the opportunity to buy pods from the farmers. After this experience, you will sail towards motu Tautau to admire the sunset on Bora Bora. Dinner and overnight at anchor.

DAY 5 : Taha'a - Bora Bora
The skipper will take you to explore the Coral Garden. Located between the motus Tautau and Maharane, this small shallow channel (maximum 2 meters) is an open-air aquarium. Take out fins, masks and snorkels to discover the magic of the multi-colored coral and thousands of fish that swim in the crystal-clear water. The morning continues with a visit to a pearl farm. You will learn how the “black pearls of Tahiti” are cultivated from the variety of oysters. Back on the boat, the skipper sets sail for Bora Bora. Anchor at motu Toopua, which has a panoramic view of Bora Bora. Thanks to the surrounding sandbanks, the small island is ideal for swimming, paddling or kayaking in complete safety. Dinner and night at anchor.

DAY 6 : Bora Bora Lagoon
After a continental breakfast, you will sail along the "Route des motus". You will have a breathtaking view of the highest mountain in Bora Bora, Mount Otemanu, which rises to a height of 727 metres. Take advantage of these last few hours to relax in a floating hammock or simply relax in the water. You will disembark at Vaitape around 1pm. A sea shuttle, included in the flight price, will take you to the airport (about 20 minutes).

  • What documents are necessary for my vacation in Polynesia?

    EU and non-EU citizens should check with the consulate of their country of origin for information on formalities.
  • Is everyone on board English-speaking?

    Please note that this cruise is not exclusive to English travelers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board as we offer cruises to international clientele - encouraging curious and enriching exchanges for both passengers and crew.
    Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer multilingual service.
  • Who is in charge of the air transport to Huahine?

    Your flight tickets are not included in your package. However, these can be booked by the GlobeSailor team. All you have to do is specify it to your advisor when booking your cruise
  • How are my transfers organized?

    Your package includes the one-way transfer. Upon arrival at the airport, you will benefit from a collective transfer that will take you to the hotel (about 25 min). For your transfer back to Vaitape, a sea shuttle, included in the flight price, will take you to the airport (about 20 minutes). Don't forget to forward your arrival times to your advisor.
  • What is the skipper's job? And the hostess?

    All the skippers we offer are registered and hold the necessary professional certificates. They speak fluent English. If you have any special requirements regarding the skipper, please let us know. The skipper is responsible for navigation and your safety on board. Feel free to participate with him in the manoeuvres, he will be happy to teach you the basics of navigation. Concerning the organisation, the skipper sleeps on the boat, either in a separate cabin or in the saloon. The skipper is not in charge of cooking or washing dishes. On request, a hostess (or cook) can prepare your meals, clean the saloon, clean your cabins and more generally ensure that the boat is in good order. all our cabin cruises include the services, at a minimum, of a skipper and a hostess (unless otherwise specified in the contract)
  • Does the boat operate only with the sails?

    It depends on the weather. When the winds are strong, the skipper will use the sails to sail silently. On days with calmer winds or to reach the stopovers on schedule, the skipper may need to use the engine. The engine is also used when entering and leaving the marinas. We cannot guarantee a minimum time of using the sails. The skipper will do their best to use the sails as much as possible and involve passengers in manoeuvres.
  • How are meals organized on the boat?

    During your cruise, you will benefit from full board including: breakfasts, lunches and dinners. These are organized and prepared by the hostess / cook. Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are not included, but can be added in addition. Check the terms and conditions of your quotation carefully. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are allergic to any food or if you are on a special diet.
  • How are meals organzied in the hotel?

    During your stay at the seaside, you will benefit from half board which includes: breakfasts and dinners (2 courses, starter/dish or main course/dessert). Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are not included. Check the terms and conditions of your quotation carefully. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are allergic to any food or if you are on a special diet.
  • Is it possible to change the type of bungalow at the hotel? or extend our stay?


    Basic, your package includes 2 nights in a garden bungalow. However, if you wish, and for an additional charge, you can stay in another category of accommodation and/or extend your stay by one or more nights.
    Mahana's bungalows:

  • Traditional Fare:
  • located opposite the lagoon, this bungalow made of coconut wood, bamboo and pandanus of 48.5 m² has a private semi-piloted terrace of 13.5 m².
  • Bungalow Deluxe Beach:
  • located on the beach, this 48 m² bungalow has a 15 m² private terrace and a 14 m² private garden with a shower area.
  • Bungalow Deluxe Lagoon View:
  • located only 15 steps from the beach, this 48 m² bungalow has a beautiful view of the lagoon, a private terrace of 15 m² and a private garden with a 14 m² shower area.
  • Bungalow on the edge of the lagoon:
  • this 28 m² semi-detached bungalow overlooks the lagoon at 180° and has a private terrace of 8 m².


  • What are the hotel proposed excursion?


    Below is a non-exhaustive list of activities and excursions offered by Hotel Le Mahana.

  • Open access equipment:
  • kayaks, paddles, fins, masks, snorkels, beach towels and deckchairs.

  • Open access activities: pareo, woven crowns, initiation to the Tahitian language...
  • Tour of the island by land: 4x4 car tour, guided tour, guided quad tour
  • Nautical excursions Island tour by pirogue with picnic seated in the lagoon, combined 4x4 car tour and pirogue, scuba diving, kitesurfing, deep sea fishing.

  • You will also have the possibility to rent cars, scooters or bicycles from a professional partner of the hotel.
    To be noted: The activities and excursions mentioned below are strictly indicative. We cannot guarantee their realization during your stay. The rates for paid activities will be available on site.
  • What currency is used in Polynesia.


    The local currency is the Pacific franc (CFP franc for "Communauté française du Pacifique", also abbreviated XPF).


  • How do I confirm my booking?

    To confirm your booking you should inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will put an option (hold) on the cabin for a certain time until we receive your down payment.
    The booking will only be considered final once your down payment has been recieved (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card) which is 50% of the total amount. A 100% down payment is required for any booking made less than one month before departure.
    The balance should be paid no later than one month before boarding.
  • What happens if I need to cancel my cruise?

    If you wish to make a cancellation, you should contact your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Whatever the circumstances, you will be charged the following cancellation fees, depending on when the cancellation is made: up to 90 days before departure = 25%; 89 to 60 days before departure = 50%; 59 to 30 days before departure = 75%; 29 days or less before departure = 100% of the total cost of your booking. We recommend that you sign up for cancellation insurance with your personal insurance provider.
