The Captivating History of Rhodes

The island of Rhodes is one of the most famous of the Dodecanese islands, and is home to some of the most fascinating history. The Old Town is the largest medieval city in Europe, and definitely worth spending some time getting lost in the charming cobbled back-streets during your sailboat charter, to uncover some of the incredible heritage of the island. You can also visit the Archaeological Museum or Filerimos Byzantine castle. Located 20km from the city, the castle perches on top of Filerimos hill, surrounded by lush pine forest, making for stunning afternoon strolls under the trees, protected from the heat of the sun!

The Glorious Beaches of Kos

One of Kos’ best-known attractions is its beaches. With 112km of coastline to navigate during your sailboat charter, you will not be short of choice, with a beach to suit every preference. If you’re a fan of watersports and want a lively beach bar atmosphere, sail to Lambi beach which is located near the town centre, and is home to glorious sands, and has been awarded the blue flag. Agios Stefanos is a very different experience, the beach is located right next to ruins of early Christian temples – only a few metres from the water! Or if you’re looking for peace and tranquility, moor your sailboat and venture to the remote, exotic Polemi Beach (favoured by many naturists), or Limnionas Beach, where a rocky bay lies in between cliffs, and looks out onto the most dazzling turquoise waters; a perfect stop during your boat rental.

Samos is home to breathtaking mountains such as Kerketef, which stands at 1437m high – one of the highest in the Aegean, and picturesque mountain villages such as Vourliotes, which is home to charming colourful buildings and houses, which will give you a taste of authentic Greek life. The island is also home to various isolated beaches, so if you’re navigating the west coast, make sure to moor your sailboat near Paleochori or Kallithea villages so find some of the most remote patches of sand.
