Angelokastro Castle

Angelokastro Castle is a historic marvel that is worth a day trip to see during your sailboat charter in Corfu. The castle is strategically located along the northwest coast on the highest peak of the island. The position of the fortress allowed its residents to successfully defend themselves from pirate attacks as they could see the invaders approaching from a distance. Inside, located in a cave, you can still see the ruins of a church which was dedicated to angels. Some historians argue that this fortress dates back to the 13th century. ACHILLEION
